Roti Prata
At the junction of King George's Avenue and Maude road lies a coffeeshop with an Indian stall - in the mornings, this stall sells only roti prata, a local Indian dish.
Roti prata is a dough-based flat pancake - the roti prata dough is first made from wheat flour tossed and stretched until it is paper thin. The dough is then cooked on a hot griddle with generous amounts of oil.
The dish itself is commonly served with curry (either vegetable or meat curries) but on occasion sugar is sprinkled over the prata and the prata eaten plain.
This prata stall has been at Jalan Besar for a long time and continues to serve quality and delicious roti prata even up to today.
