Kueh at Syed Alwi Road
Kueh is the Malay (and also Hokkien) term for a variety of snacks that can be either sweet or savoury and is often considered the Asian equivalent of the cakes and pastries found in the West.
Often kuehs are steamed instead of baked (as is the case for pastries), making them fundamentally distinct from their Western counterparts in terms of texture and taste.
This shop at Syed Alwi road makes and sells more than 20 varieties of kueh, including kueh made by the Nonya, Malay and Indonesian communities.
